Pith location tool : R function and swreg model
Different pith-location tools based on trigonometry are tested with a referential dataset.
Both angiosperms and gymnosperms with different wood anatomy are considered (7 taxa in total).
Relative errors are analysed and corrections factors established.
The effect of wood shrinkage during carbonization is also tested
A ready-to-use tool to estimate the missing radius with an interval of confidence is provided.
